Unfortunately or fortunately we are one Europe. Every country has its own rules, every country has its own norms and values. Puppies in a pet shop, how often animals can be pregnant, how many litters a bitch can get, which health examinations may or may not.
Unfortunately or fortunately there are groups within countries, but also between countries and within, for example, a race. If you talk to him, you should not talk to him. You speak of the shame of a situation, but most of all do not help each other.
We do not like to exchange information because what if something would come out that we should do something with?
Some countries invent the rules themselves and are certainly not open to the idea that you can help a race get into trouble.
Scientists who argue for gender diversity who hears them?

You hear of epilepsy but the keeper of this animal denies that it is epilepsy. Okay fine because epilepsy symptoms can also result from a bad diet.
We see questions about whether or not breed-specific PRA occurs frequently and there is no answer or action is taken because someone without a name says that it is a serious disease.
The question of how many dogs of our breed who suffer at the DNA level actually become blind early does not receive an answer.

Come on people: that's not how we help the breed.
With the coming Dutch friends day we are organizing a day about barking in case there will probably be people who deny that our breed barks easily even at unwanted moments.

Shall we just try to provide each other with information so that we can go for the breed together?

Well said, these little group's appear here and the talks always about protecting bloodlines. Unfortunately they are so focused on this that they forget the bigger picture of ensuring diversity and the longevity of the breed. And yes it does happen across countries as well, very disappointing and sadly, in some of these "protected" groups you see some pups and grown dogs who stand East west and like all dogs have faults of varying degrees. I am sure that with all the health testing out there with the testing bodies there should be a better scope to ensure diversity and breed protection without the cliche groups that abound, however sadly for the breed this is not the case.

Well written and also very true

A heartfelt & honest post. Our breed TRUSTS US to do the right thing for THEM & we OWE it to them 👍

I totally agree with you, Jeanine. Especially because the breed is so small, people should unite and work together instead of splitting up. Therefore, you and your association are invited to join the Dutch official breed club Scandia to share your opinions and knowledge, in order to achieve the best possible regulations for the breed.
